Hi folks! I hope gear questions are allowed. I am trying to find the warmest synthetic belay parka for my partner. We were set on the Patagonia Das Parka, but recently Arcteryx released the Nuclei SV, which looks to have more insulation, and is surprisingly cheaper too.
DAS Parka is designed to keep you warm in bitterly cold conditions but potentially wet conditions. It does that exceptionally well. It is my "go to" parka for belaying when ice climbing. I used it this past weekend when it was 15 degrees, snowy, with a strong wind. DAS Parka kept me warm.
